The International Order of The Rainbow for Girls was founded in 1922 when a time in our history when youth organizations came into being after WW1. It was a time in American history when youth organization were forming and whose principles benefited its youth and encouraged them to join in group activities. IORG teaches what matters most-leadership, confidence, citizenship, and a sense of sisterhood. Rainbow Girls volunteer in their communities and travel around the state visiting other clubs and making lots of new friends. Along the way they gather invaluable life skills to help them become the best daughter, sister, student and friend they can be. Girls say that Rainbow has given them the sisterhood that they know that no matter what happens they have a support system. Girls have gained confidence in themselves and the skills to be successful. Rainbow gives them a sense of community and feeling of accomplishment by helping others without expecting anything in return. Being a Member of IORG also give girls an opportunity to apply for scholarships that you may not be eligible to receive without the affiliation to this group, which is part of the Masonic Family.
