  • To complete our series on Women in Leadership, we're spending a few moments with our Chief Executive Officer, Carrie McDermott. How long have you been with Stonewall Kitchen Family of Brands and how did you come to work here?  CM: It will be one year in April when I joined Stonewall Kitchen. It has been a fast and fun year. Stonewall Kitchen is filled with amazing people and fantastic products!  I have spent my career working at terrific companies, mainly in retail, working with consumers. When this opportunity arose, I was excited about working in food and learning something new. What is your favorite product?  CM: That is a really hard question. I love all the products so much! Right now, I have been enjoying our Sour Cherry Jam, it is terrific on a bagel with cream cheese and I love all our dessert sauces. If you haven’t tried the Malted Milk Chocolate Sauce, add it to your list – it is incredible! Our meal starters are awesome and so easy. It is impossible to pick only one item…I just can’t do it. If you could give any career advice to your younger self, what would it be? CM: To relax, slow down, and enjoy the moments. Time is always busy with a career and family and if I could go back and give any advice to my younger self, it would be to take time and enjoy the many moments, both personally and professionally.  Take more moments to be grateful along the way and cherish what is happening in the moment.

  • To continue our series on Women in Leadership, we're highlighting our Chief Marketing Officer, Janine Somers. How long have you been with Stonewall Kitchen Family of Brands and how did you come to work here? JS: August will make 13 years for me at Stonewall Kitchen. While I wasn’t formally looking for a new job at the time, my mother was looking for her favorite Stonewall Kitchen product online and came across a job listing for a Director of Marketing. She got so excited about it, she forwarded me the listing. I was working for an advertising agency at the time and was starting to miss being on the brand side. While I believe everyone building a career in marketing should work at an agency at some point in their career, for me, I love to eat (no pun intended), sleep, and breathe a brand. The stars aligned and I found myself in a dream job at a dream company! What is your favorite product? JS: This is an impossible question. Unfair even! I eat our Black Bean Salsa and Spicy Corn Relish from the jar. I love our Chocolate-Dipped Virginia Peanuts. Our Farmhouse Pancake and Waffle Mix makes the best pancakes on earth. Our Mango Lime Salsa is amazing. I put our Lemon Dill Aioli on everything. And hands down, bar none, we have the best jams on earth. Especially our Wild Maine Blueberry and Strawberry. Oh wait. Did you say I could only pick one? If you could give any career advice to your younger self, what would it be? JS: Surround yourself with people that inspire you. People who are smarter, better, more strategic, more creative and more experienced than you. Befriend them. Make them your mentors. Ask them questions. Learn from them. Most importantly… hire them. They will make you better in your career and your personal life.

Our Women in Leadership series continues with our Chief Sales Officer, Kathy Gilbert. How long have you been with Stonewall Kitchen Family of Brands and how did you come to work here? KG: Celebrating 27 years in September! I had been working in NJ and had decided to move back to my hometown of York, ME. I happened to drive by the building and thought this company is going to do some amazing things in the specialty food world and I would like to be a part of it! And now all these years later, I am blessed to have worked my way up through the organization and become an integral part of the executive team at Stonewall Kitchen. What is your favorite product? KG: One of my favorite things to prepare is a charcuterie board! It provides me the opportunity to use our Sea Salt crackers, Red Pepper Jelly, White Fig Spread, Tillen Farms Blue Cheese olives and Mild Asparagus. Delish! If you could give any career advice to your younger self, what would it be? KG: My advice would be to believe in yourself, put in the hard work and good things will come! Go out and find opportunities don’t sit back and wait for them to find you! Hire great people that will work toward a common goal! And finally, be kind, compassionate and giving whenever you can!

At Stonewall Kitchen, we're proud to have women behind the wheel on the road to our success. To celebrate Women's History Month, we're highlighting the women on our Executive Team. Read on to meet our Interim Chief Financial Officer, Tiffany Walters. How long have you been with Stonewall Kitchen Family of Brands and how did you come to work here? TW: I just marked my three-year milestone with the company. My journey began in Myrtle Beach, SC and led me up the East Coast. Relocated to Pennsylvania in 2015 for a career move, and along the way, found more than just a job – met my fiancé in 2020, a local here in Southern Maine. I made the decision to move to Maine, actively seeking career opportunities in the area. That’s when I stumbled across this remarkable company. Extremely grateful for the professional and personal growth this journey has brought and excited and looking to contributing and growing further with the team! What is your favorite product? TW: One of our favorite meals is the Chicken Marsala Simmering sauce served over Montebello Linguine pasta paired with a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Classic and flavorful dish that’s simple and easy to prepare. It’s perfection! If you could give any career advice to your younger self, what would it be? TW: In reflecting on my path to leadership, I’d share with my younger self and aspiring women leaders the importance of believing in your capabilities and cultivating resilience. Trust in your abilities and have confidence in what you can achieve. Resilience is a superpower. Embrace the challenges as growth opportunities, learn from the setbacks and view them as milestones toward your future success.
