Please join The Maine Heritage Policy Center on Thursday, February 28 at DiMillo's On the Water in Portland for a special luncheon and book signing with Dr. Cara Stillings Candal. She will outline how the combination of autonomy and accountability contributes to a successful charter school program, and how Maine can learn from Massachusetts in developing a more effective, responsive system to close the socioeconomic achievement gaps across the state. The Maine Policy team will also provide you with steps to effectively convey education reform solutions to public officials in Maine. Tickets include a plated lunch and a copy of Dr. Candal's new book, "The Fight for the Best Charter Public Schools in the Nation." Cara Stillings Candal is a Senior Fellow at Pioneer Institute. She has an extensive background in national and international education policy and teacher development, and she is the author/editor of numerous articles and several books about school university partnerships, charter schools, and other structural innovations in education.
