Portland Chamber of Commerce President Quincy Hentzel will interview Mayor Ethan Strimling on stage at Eggs & Issues on February 3, 2016.
After opening remarks, Hentzel will dig into top priorities facing the city. Drawing from Chamber goals for 2016, Hentzel and Strimling will discuss new directions for the upcoming year.
Attendees will have an opportunity to submit questions during the registration process.
Ethan Strimling, took office as Portland's Mayor in January 2016, after 10 years leading Learning Works. LearningWorks, a non-profit that provides learning opportunities for at-risk youth, the immigrant community, and low income families in Portland and regionally. Ethan has led LearningWorks for almost two decades, spearheading its transformation from a small Portland neighborhood advocacy group to a life-changing multi-million dollar organization that provides the best learning opportunities in Maine to the communities it serves.
Ethan served in the State Senate for 6 years. In the State Senate, Strimling was the Chair of the Labor Committee and also a member of the Taxation Committee. He has also served as Chair of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee.
His election was notable for the broad support it received from all corners of the community, including an endorsement from the Portland Community Chamber of Commerce.
