Join us for the Second Eggs and Issues of the season when Glenn Cummings, President of the University of Southern Maine, takes the stage.
As President Cummings enters his second year at the helm, USM finds itself in better financial waters, with enrollment and gifts increased dramatically from a year ago.
One place where USM has seen the biggest difference is in the community. With a new focus on engaging the Greater Portland area, USM has set out to become a true Metropolitan University. One way it has done that has been through engaging the region's business community via sponsorships and internships.
By effectively entering tomorrow's Portland workforce into internships today, USM has been able to use existing and new opportunities to keep trained workers in Maine. It has also introduced employers to the next wave of Husky graduates.
