From day one, Maine Beer Company's core belief has been to do what’s right. I’ll share how our commitment to this purpose has been the key ingredient in our success and why it’s so important for the future.
About Our Speaker: Steve Mills has been getting paid to think about how to grow craft beer companies for almost twenty-five years. He moved to Freeport, Maine to become the CEO of Maine Beer Company in February, 2018. Mills is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he spent most of his active duty as a member of the honor guard in Washington D.C.. He has been married to the same woman for over seventeen years. They have three children, a border collie and three outdoor cookers named: Weber, Barry White and Antonio Banderas. He enjoys mastering subjects of interest and practically anything that involves his family, friends, flavor and the outdoors. Maine Beer Company’s purpose is to do a lot of good through great beer. Founding the company in 2009, brothers David and Daniel Kleban wanted to prove they could run a successful business, while still doing what’s right. Since day one, Maine Beer Company donates 1% of their revenue to environmental non-profits. They pay employees at least $18 per hour, pay 100% of their health insurance, give them 3 or more weeks of paid time off and contribute at least 5% of their salary toward retirement.
